SAO PAULO: Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who is leading in the forms for Brazil’s October presidential election, stated on Saturday (Jul 2) he will not really tolerate threats towards institutions, and that the particular armed forces need to commit to democracy.
“It is necessary in order to overcome authoritarianism plus anti-democratic threats. We will not tolerate any type of threat on the institutions that represent the popular vote, ” Lula said in a talk in the northeastern city of Salvador.
3 other presidential candidates also attended the event to celebrate the particular independence of the State of Bahia, which includes right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro, who is working for re-election.
