Bomb threat on India’s Vistara Airlines flight forced to land in Türkiye was false, local governor says

The local governor claimed that a bomb threat that forced an Indian airline’s Vistara Airlines flight to land in Erzurum on Friday ( Sep. 6 ) was false.

Rocket waste teams searched the aircraft’s 234 travellers and 13 crew members after discovering a piece of paper with “bomb on board” written on it in a latrine.

Trip UK27 from Mumbai to Frankfurt was delayed, according to a Vistara director because of” a security issue.” The flight landed at Erzurum at 4.30pm local time ( 1.30pm GMT ).

” As of 23.30pm, we have completed all research and evaluation activities. We discovered that the weapon danger was false as a result of the work we did, government of Erzurum Mustafa Ciftci told investigators at the airport.

After the checks were finished, Ciftci added that an additional cautionary halt to takeoff and landing procedures was put in place at the airport.

” All flights coming or leaving from our state will now be able to fly comfortably”, he said.

Vistara claimed in a blog on X that all important checks were carried out and that customers, team, and the aircraft had all been cleared by security agencies.

Additionally, the flight added that it would be sending an alternative aircraft to Istanbul by 12.25pm native time on Saturday to transport the travellers to Frankfurt.
