At least 18 dead in Nepal plane crash, officials say

A small plane crashed and caught fire while it was taking off from Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, on Wednesday ( July 24 ), killing at least 18 people, according to officials.

According to officials, the aircraft was taking two crew members and 17 professionals to Pokhara City to rebuild a different aircraft.

” Only the captain was rescued intact and is receiving care at a hospital”, said Tej Bahadur Poudyal, the spokesman for Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport.

Firefighters trying to extinguish the blaze in television visuals, and thicker, black smoke started pouring into the sky. Additionally, they showed the planes tilting before it crashed and flying slightly above the airport.
