China vows ‘targeted military actions’ in response to Pelosi’s Taiwan visit

BEIJING: China’s military promised on Tuesday (Aug 2) to start “targeted military actions” in response to US House Loudspeaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan , since tensions flare between Washington and Beijing.

“The Chinese People’s Freedom Army is on high alert and will launch a series of targeted military operations to counter this, resolutely defend national sovereignty and territorial ethics, and resolutely circumvent external interference and ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist attempts, ” defence ministry spokesman Wu Qian said inside a statement condemning the visit.
