TikTok bidders pile up as deadline looms with Amazon, OnlyFans founder in mix

Bids for the short-video social media site are accumulating as the trip date for TikTok&nbsp, to find a customer approaches.

The most recent companies to put their clothes in the ring for TikTok include Amazon and a consortium led by OnlyFans leader Tim Stokely. The website has an April 5 date to reach a deal to locate a non-Chinese consumer who is in danger of being expelled from the country.

US authorities have raised safety concerns about the application’s connections to China, which TikTok, TikTok, and ByteDance have denied. Officials from the Trump administration are meeting on Wednesday ( Apr 2 ) to discuss the various options for TikTok.

Stokely, the creator of the adult articles social media site OnlyFans, is the founder of Startup Zoop, which the two announced to Reuters on Wednesday, has partnered with a cryptocurrency foundation to send a late-stage plan to pay for TikTok.

A representative from the US government confirmed that Amazon had written a text to Howard Lutnick, the secretary of commerce, and Vice President JD Vance. While&nbsp, TikTok, and ByteDance did not immediately respond to requests for comment, Amazon declined to comment.

Following reports of the last-minute pay from TikTok&nbsp, stock of Amazon increased by about 2 percent.

An internal social media platform that may help Amazon sell more products and appeal to a younger audience has long been a dream. In order to create a practical social network, it purchased the live video platform Twitter in 2014 for almost US$ 1 billion and the book review platform Goodreads in 2013.

Additionally, Amazon created and tested an Inspire short-form video and photo pull similar to TikTok that it shuttered earlier this year.
