His daughter reported on Sunday ( Mar 23 ) that former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte believes he has no case to answer in front of the International Criminal Court and has faith in his legal case.
After appearing exhausted and dazed at his first reading at the ICC, Sara Duterte, vice-president of the Philippines, informed investigators that her father is now recovering.
He is confident in the legitimate claims. He has a lot of confidence in the fact that what they did was bad and that there is no event to start with,” Duterte told investigators.
The 79-year-old former leader is accused of crimes against humanity related to the death of countless people during his “war on medications.”
He is now awaiting a verification of claims hearing on September 23 in a detention facility in The Hague where he will have the opportunity to object to the accusations made against him.
Duterte , who was loaded into a plane in Manila and flown to Dubai via Dubai, appeared to be scarcely awake at his first hearing two days later.
However, his daughter, who claimed to have seen him on Saturday, said:” He feels better now and sadly the doctors and the caregivers are taking good care of him.”
She had formerly disclosed that the French food that was served in the center was her father’s major complaint.
