
China criticized President Donald Trump’s latest threat to impose an additional 10 % duty on Chinese imports over deadly drug flows into the US on Friday ( Feb 28 ). The White House accused the White House of” shifting the blame” and taking steps to destabilize global supply chains.
Trump announced on Thursday that his proposed 25 percent tariffs on Latino and American commodities would go into effect on Tuesday, along with an additional 10 % work on Chinese exports.
The start of China’s monthly parliamentary discussions on Wednesday, a set-piece social event where Beijing is expected to unveil its primary economic priorities for 2025, coincide with the new China taxes, which include the 10 % tax levied on Feb 4.
A spokesperson for the business department said in a statement that” we have constantly stated that punitive tariffs violate World Trade Organization guidelines and undermine the international trading system.”
China has one of the most stringent and carefully enforced anti-drug laws in the world, it said. ” Now, ( the US) once again is threatening additional tariffs. This behavior is nothing more than shifting the responsible and avoiding accountability.
