From Taiwan to trade, China braces for more rivalry as Trump declares victory

Beijing: As Democrat Kamala Harris defeated Republican Donald Trump to win the US national election, China is set for four more years of bitter superpower conflict over trade, systems, and security issues.

Voters revealed that Trump demonstrated power across large swaths of the nation, capturing a larger promote of the vote than he did four years ago.

Some Chinese strategists predicted Trump’s separatist foreign policy would leave Beijing with no opportunity to grow its international influence, despite their expectation of more vehement rhetoric and potentially catastrophic tariffs.

” Beijing anticipated a nearby competition in the US election. Although Trump’s win is not China’s desired outcome and raises worries, it is not completely unexpected”, said Tong Zhao, senior colleague at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

The Chinese management will probably work harder to work China’s strength and power while maintaining an appearance of a friendly personal relationship with Trump.

Based on his plan policy proposals and actions in his earlier term, Da Wei, director of the Center for International Security and Strategy at Tsinghua University in Beijing, said Trump’s victory “may represent a somewhat significant challenge to Sino-US relations.”

” Due to Trump’s high unpredictability, I think it is difficult for China to say that there is a fully formed plan to do” x” when Trump comes to power. Additionally, it depends on the policies put forth by the Trump administration.
