A Japanese publisher announced on Thursday ( Jun 20 ) that Shohei Ohtani’s disgraced former interpreter would be removed from a textbook that celebrated his accomplishments.
Ippei Mizuhara, his long-time friend, admitted to stealing almost US$ 17 million from the Los Angeles Dodgers star.
In the curriculum for kids aged 14- 15 studying English, webpages titled” People Who Support Success” feature a little chat about Mizuhara’s position.
A picture of Ohtani and Mizuhara smiling next to each other was the subject of the websites.
Mizuhara was charged with using the money from the Major League Baseball person’s bank account to fuel an “insatiable appetite” for unlawful sports betting.
Publisher Kyoiku Shuppan said in a speech that since the scandal that erupted in March, “we’ve decided to replace that part.”
