Philippines accuses China of damaging its vessel at hotly contested shoal

Beijing’s claim that it had expelled two vessels from the hotly contested shoal was rejected by the Philippines on Tuesday ( Apr 30 ), accusing China’s coast guard of harassing and damaging one of its boats in a disputed region of the South China Sea.

The Scarborough Shoal, a crucial battleground in the South China Sea, was where the Spanish coast guard’s two ships stood, according to the Spanish coast guard, but one of those vessels suffered injury from two Foreign coast guard ships ‘ use of water cannons.

According to a statement from a representative for the Spanish coast guard, Jay Tarriela, the country’s representative,” This damage serves as proof of the violent water pressure used by the China coast guard to harass Asian vessels.”

They continued to carry out their genuine operations to support Filipino anglers and ensure their safety, saying that they were not deterred.

No nation is in charge of the carefully located Scarborough Shoal, a big shipment lanes-adjacent fishing region that is frequented by many nations. The reef is located within the special economic zone of the Philippines.
