China, Thailand sign pacts on outer space, lunar outposts

The Chinese space agency announced on Friday ( Mar. 5 ) that China and Thailand had signed initial agreements to co-operate on peaceful use of international lunar research stations.

The states aim to form a cooperative working class on space exploration and software, encompassing information markets and staff training, according to the memorandums of knowledge.

They also agreed to co- operate on plans for appraising, engineering and managing lunar research stations, the China National Space Administration ( CNSA ) said in a statement.

In 2023, China selected a room temperature check developed by Thailand for its Chang’e- 7 lunar probe objective, the agency added.

To get launched around 2026, the Chang’e- 7 mission does explore resources on the moon’s north pole, looking to sustain extended- term individual habitation. By 2030, China hopes to land astronauts on the moon.
