New Zealand deports Malaysian doctor who drugged and sexually assaulted patients

SINGAPORE: A Malaysian doctor who seem to sexually assaulted patients after sedating all of them has been deported from New Zealand back to Malaysia, according to media reports on Wed (Aug 3).

David Lim Kang Huat was convicted of sexually assaulting four guys while they were subconscious at a clinic located in Hastings, a town in New Zealand’s North Island within 2014.

The victims, who got consulted Lim regarding minor ailments, were sedated with the anesthetic Midazolam, the New Zealand Herald reported.

They woke as much as find the general practitioner rubbing their private parts.

In a record from 2017 covering Lim’s court hearing, the newspaper quoted a crown prosecutor saying the victims were aged among 18 and thirty.

DEPORTED AFTER SERVING SENTENCE

Lim,   who will be reported to have transitioned from male in order to female while in prison, was sentenced in order to five years’ jail in 2017 right after being found doing five charges associated with disabling or stupefying and five costs of indecent assault on a male over the age of 16, Brand new Zealand news media web site Stuff reported.

“We prioritise cases for expulsion with those involved in criminality or who seem to otherwise pose a risk to the honesty of New Zealand’s migration system being the best priority cases pertaining to deportation, ” the brand new Zealand Herald quoted him as stating.

Born within Malaysia and been trained in Scotland, Lim went to New Zealand in 2006 to work within Hawke’s Bay Medical center, according to the media reviews. The doctor spent three years as a registrar right now there, before working full-time at The Doctors clinic in Hastings.

A year after getting sentenced, a disciplinary tribunal banned Lim from practising medication in the country.
