Developing: Pritam Singh charged with lying to parliament over Raeesah Khan’s case

SINGAPORE: &nbsp, Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh was charged&nbsp, on Tuesday ( Mar 19 ) with&nbsp, two offences under the Parliament ( Privileges, Immunities and Powers ) Act.

The Workers ‘ Party leader is accused of fabricating testimony at the Committee of Privileges trials involving former Member of Parliament Raeesah Khan.

Mr Singh, 47, has pleaded not guilty.

In 2021, Ms. Khan admitted lying in congress over a murder case that she had claimed the officers had handled improperly. &nbsp,

Her carry was referred to legislature’s Committee of Privileges. The committee then suggested that Mr. Singh become referred to the public prosecutor for more inquiries and potential criminal charges for his detention following a number of sessions.
