SINGAPORE: A lady suffering from untreated schizophrenia listened to voices telling her that the girl eight-year-old daughter has been an evil spirit and needed to be killed.

She stabbed her daughter in order to death in front of her younger daughter, who had been four at the time. The girl, who is now thirty six, cannot be named due to a gag order safeguarding the victim’s identification.

She pleaded guilty on Wednesday (Sep 20) to one count of killing , but  was acquitted of the charge under Section 251 of the Criminal Treatment Code as the lady was of unsound mind at the time of the offence.

FEMALE’S NIECE HEARD THE GIRL TALKING INCOHERENTLY

On Aug ten, 2021, the woman was in her bedroom along with her two children. Her brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew were also in your own home, while her mothers and fathers were working in their particular coffee shop.

The woman is at high risk of self-harm plus requires long-term guidance and psychiatric treatment, the court noticed.

A doctor assessed the woman and said she was severely psychotic during the time of the offence plus was incapable of the actual nature of her acts. The woman is currently suit to plead in court.
