Harris is within the region to direct an US usa president delegation to the funeral of former Western Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday.
“Nearly 70 years because the Korean Armistice, the visit will emphasize the strength of the “alliance” between Seoul and Washington “in the face of any risks posed” by Northern Korea, the US established said.
The official asked not to become named discussing a trip that Harris has not officially announced.
Harris would tour the DMZ, discuss with service members, get an operational briefing from US commanders, reflect on the shared sacrifice of United states and South Korean soldiers and reaffirm the “ironclad” commitment to South Korean security, the official added.
