Thailand’s Hua Hin set to receive international flights – can tourism take off amid traffic, water woes?

Marketing UNIQUENESS OF Place

Sharing the treasures of – and the responsibilities for – Thailand’s burgeoning tourism sector is an important consideration for the government, said Noor Ahmad Hamid, main executive of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, a membership organization that promotes the concerned growth of travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific. &nbsp,

” Developing secondary sites is not just a short-term tourism approach, it is essential for Thailand’s long-term hospitality sustainability”, he said.

It is why Hua Hin’s airport creation is a crucial piece of infrastructure. &nbsp,

Niti Vongvichasvadi, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s ( TAT ) Prachuap Khiri Khan office, said he expected the airport upgrade to result in a” surge in tourist arrivals, particularly from regions with direct flight connections”.

He explained that Po was using a “hub and wire strategy”, combining Hua Hin with big sites like Bangkok to try to attract visitors to all eight districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan state.

” Every region borders the water and features special holiday sights”, he said.

The state is a somewhat less trodden place, and so too is neighbouring Phetchaburi. &nbsp,

Given that the nearest international airport north of Hua Hin is Surat Thani, some 430 kilometres away, there are options to improve tourism if these provinces are treated and promoted as a swarm place, Chanat said. &nbsp,

At the moment, the commerce branding strategy for Hua Hin is “unclear” at the federal level, with most promotional endeavors also relying on the private market, he said.
