Najib hospitalised for fluctuating blood pressure; 1MDB trial postponed 

KUALA LUMPUR: Najib Razak has been hospitalised since Mon (Sep 12), said his legal team as it sought to postpone his 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) corruption trial.  

Lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah told the High Court on Tuesday which the former prime minister, 69, has to go through several tests, which might take a few days.  

“There are usually issues with his wellness, because he seems to have exhibited fluctuating blood pressure. The reason for it has not been discovered, so they are doing their very best, ” said Muhammad Shafee because quoted by Bernama.

He furthermore informed the court that Najib, that is hospitalised at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), will be transferred to the particular National Heart Start (IJN) later.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa L Kunyalam did not object to the postponement, and Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah then set Wednesday afternoon just for mention to get a good update on Najib’s condition.

Based on Malaysian media, Najib’s 1MDB trial was initially scheduled to take place through Monday to Thurs this week, with 1 prosecution witness testifying on money that will flowed in and out associated with Najib’s previous private bank account with AmIslamic bank.

Upon Monday, the trial has been cut short   when the Higher Court was informed that the former perfect minister’s health condition has been “quite bad” and needed medical attention.

The prosecution group told the High Courtroom judge that Najib needed to be sent to hospital for medical attention as the high blood pressure medication he or she was taking acquired given him adverse effects.
