The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission ( NBTC ) has accused Rukchanok Srinork, a People’s Party ( PP ) MP for Bangkok, of being incompetent and wasting money after abandoning its plan to build a multi-billion-baht headquarters.

According to Ms. Rukchanok, the development agreement for the 2.2.6-billion-baht office building was supposed to be finished in 2022, but it has now been canceled due to the NBTC’s requests to alter the building’s design. Covid-19, according to the NBTC, even halted the project.

Construction started in 2013, according to her, and the architecture labor started in 2013.

The MP claimed that changing the pattern frequently results in higher fees. An extra 100 million ringgit was spent on job design and supervision, according to Ms Rukchanok, aside from the 2. 6 billion-baht budget.

As a member of the House Committee on State Budget Planning and Spending, Ms. Rukchanok claimed a copy of the site’s bill of quantities and the development plan may be available in ten days.

Contrary to other state firms, Ms. Rukchanok made the observation that the NBTC had the right to make a decision on like a large-scale project without first obtaining funds commission acceptance.

She claimed that the House of Representatives did not review the NBTC’s business creating construction project.

Ms. Rukchanok claimed that the NBTC collects up to 2 % of its revenue from spread license buyers.

Its annual income is many billions of dollars, according to her statement, which allows it to be somewhat independent when it comes to budgeting.

The MP even raised concerns about the NBTC’s funds approval process and how it spent 600 million baht to obtain World Cup viewing right.

She cited the brain’s internal management as being extremely difficult because it hasn’t named its secretary-general in the last five years and allowed telecommunications industry influence to define how it operates.

” The NBTC authority is ineffective. She claimed that it is unable to deal with SMS messages from improper internet and syndicates operating at the border.

As of media period, the NBTC had never responded.
