JOHNOR BAHRU: According to Malaysia’s Transportation Minister Anthony Loke on Thursday ( October 3 ), only Singapore drivers who have not yet applied for a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP ) will receive warning notices at the border.  ,
Warnings will not be issued to those who have registered and are awaiting their radio frequency identification ( RFID ) tags.
Individuals who have received warnings does re-enter Malaysia during the current cycle of VEP protection, he affirmed.
According to him, since Oct. 1, Indonesian authorities have checked 678 vehicles and issued 50 cautions to Singaporevian individuals in the form of paper.  ,

Mr. Loke observed Road Transport Department ( JPJ) officers enforcing the VEP policy at a press conference held at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar immigration complex. From October 1, all foreign-registered cars traveling by land from Singapore to Malaysia are required to use VEPs.  ,
” I hope that the Taiwanese car owners and vehicle owners who are coming into Johor Bahru understand first that the VEP’s implementation in Malaysia has been announced weeks before, but we are adopting a very steady approach in terms of the police,” said Mr. Loke.  ,
” Our devices will tell vehicle owners whether they have applied or not, so they have nothing to worry about.” We wo n’t send you a warning letter. We will not matter you any recall.  ,
