The Centre with regard to Medical Genomics in Ramathibodi Hospital has reported confirmation of a case of an extremely contagious, third era of Covid-19.

A publishing on the centre’s Fb account identified the virus as BA. second . 75. 2, a subvariant of the Omicron variant, and recommended of the need to prepare for a possible new wave of Omicron infections.

The particular centre said that according to the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium, India’s genome sequencing agency, HANDBAG. 2 . 75. two evolved from BA. second . 75, which began to spread in Indian in May and demonstrated the most mutations as compared to other Covid-19 pressures in India.

BA. second . 75 kept mutating and one of the mutations was BA. 2 . 75. 2 .

The Ramathibodi Hospital centre quoted an immunological expert at Peking University as saying that BA. 2 . 75. 2 was the strain many capable of avoiding antibodies and could be “the super contagious Omicron subvariant”.

BA. 2 . seventy five was the second era of Covid-19 and had 95-100 mutations compared with the original Wuhan stress. Its relative growth advantage was about 37% compared with other pressures in India.

BA. 2 . 75. 2 was your third generation along with 95-100 mutations compared with Wuhan but its comparable growth advantage was 248% compared with BA. 2 . 75 within India.

“It was first discovered in India and it has spread to Chile, England, Singapore, Spain, Germany and Asia, ” the Cente for Medical Genomics said.

BA. 2 . 75. 2 had a relatives growth advantage of 90% compared with BA. 5 and 148% towards BA. 4, that have been dominant subvariants internationally, it said.

The centre said it found a single case of BA. 2 . 75. 2 reported from Thailand to the database from the Global Initiative on Sharing Avian Influenza Data (GISAID).

It recommended that treatment must be designed specifically for different strains of the disease,   because different kinds of vaccines, antivirals plus synthetic antibodies got different effects on different strains.
