WA: Overshadowed by ALL OF US President Joe Biden’s headline-grabbing vow that will American forces would protect Taiwan against a Chinese attack was his hint at possibly shifting US plan to support the island’s right to self-determination.
Though the Whitened House has taken aches to say Biden’s most explicit statement however about defending the particular island, made during an interview broadcast on Sunday (Sep 18), did not signify a policy change, some experts say he may possess undercut – deliberately or not – the US stance associated with not taking a place on Taiwan’s self-reliance.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping has long-vowed to bring Taiwan under Beijing’s control and has not ruled out the use of force to do so. Taiwan strongly objects to China’s states but says will not need to declare self-reliance because it is already a completely independent country.
