HANGZHOU: On Saturday, October 7, Singaporean xiangqi( Chinese games ) person Ngo Lan Huong won a bronze in the women’s individual celebration at the Asian Games.
Ngo defeated Nguyen Hoang Yen of Vietnam 2 – 0 in the seventh round of the competition to win Singapore’s first xiangqi medal at the Games.
Twice at the Games, Xiangqi made an appearance; the first time was in Guangzhou, China, for the 2010 model.
Ngo had previously defeated China’s Guo Wenjing by winning three of her games, drawing two, and losing one. Later in the day, Guo would later take home the gold and her friend Wang Linna the silver.
The 43-year-old won silver in the traditional personal celebration at the 32nd SEA Games earlier this year. Ngo even received a copper medal for her participation in the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi.
Singapore now has a complete prize total of three golds, six silver, and seven bronzes.
