Govt focuses on northeast’s economy

Nong Bua Lamphu will host the PM’s primary mobile cabinet meet.

In November, Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister, will convene his first mobile cabinet meeting to talk about boosting the province’s sector.

He said he picked Nong Bua Lamphu for the meeting after conducting an assessment trip to the northern region yesterday while speaking at the Customs Office of the Laos borders checkpoint.

In order to better understand the problems the visitors are dealing with, such as poverty, medications, and drought, he declared that a mobile cabinet meeting should be held there.

Mr. Srettha visited Khon Kaen and Udon Thani on Friday before traveling to Nong Khai. He claimed that because those two provinces are close to Laos, a nation that has high-speed trains to China, and have airports to raise tourism, they have the potential to grow their economies even further.

Mr. Srettha responded that the problem would be discussed at the upcoming case gathering because a budget for the circuit’s design had been prepared when asked about the second phase of the dual-track train initiative from Khon Kaen to Nong Khai.

This is regarded as an essential matter. The record may not cost a lot of money, but it will bring in significant earnings, he said. At the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge connecting Nong Khai and Vientiane in Laos, it must be constructed concurrently with a loading place.

He claimed that numerous federal organizations have worked together to enhance infrastructure so that the regional trade sector can keep up with Laos and China.

The PM is anticipated to visit the northern region again at the end of the following month to continue the infrastructure project after successful previous international trade negotiations.

According to reports, Mr. Srettha was informed by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and representatives from the business community in Nong Khai that they wanted a gate connecting the city to Vientiane to be finished by 2029.

Additionally, they requested that Mr. Srettha construct a business center for businessmen.

In order to boost the labor market in the northern region and push for more pro-Nong Khai monetary policies, they said the state should also help Khon Kaen University’s plan to open a college for high-speed railway engineering.
